Price Jewelry for Ebay

If you just made a great looking piece of jewelry and it is worth about $80, do not list it for $5 hoping the bid will go up. People tend to put a value on this jewelry based on the price you put on it. If you say it is not valuable, they will think it is not valuable.

A good rule of thumb is to put a price on it that you would be happy to sell it at. And, “Yes!”, keep it reasonable. It is not a high end venue but an easy venue to pick up a little money.

EXAMPLE: I sell large sculpted mabe pearls for about $95 at jewelry shows but since I can make them in 10 minutes and the mabe pearl only costs about $8, I would be happy to make $30 on an auction. Remember you only have a small listing fee and a small percentage of the closing cost. If a mabe sells for $40, I’m happy. Now, if it is bid up to $100, I would be even happier!!!

Include accurate descriptions of the color, measurement, style, material and overall condition of the item. You may want to suggest how your particular piece of jewelry can be worn. For instance, do your pendants look better with blue jeans or black tie apparel? Do they make good wedding presents or holiday gifts?
