TIP BY PAMELA CASEY - Preston, I'm still setting up my new studio after moving. With a kazillion beads, metals for metal working and a lot of small coils, spools etc of wire organization can be difficult! I'm using cheap wire book sorter stands from yard sales and thrift shops with file folders for each type and gauge of coils of wire. They can even be hung on walls using large cup hooks. Spools are on a picture frame with a peg board back and long peg hooks so I can change them around as spool sizes change.

TIP BY DOLCIE CRAWFORD When I make any type of jewelry, especially when I know the end of the wire will touch the skin, I always use my wire rounder to smooth the end of the wire before I hide the end. This way I know that if the wire slips out, it will not be sharp.

TIP BY WALLACE FRYE - Preston, I sell at flea markets a lot and I have found securing trays to a board or table keeps hole trays from disapearing. I also run small dowel rods through ring trays from top to bottom under the ring slotsto go through the rings tl protect investments. I also use some cases but if you have stuff in the open people can touch it items sell better. but you have to be security minded. Nothing is worse then selling a 90 dollar ring only to find someone stole two.

I say yes, I give a discount for purchases of $200.00 or more (you can set your own threshhold). I sometimes also mention that my modest markup only covers my materials and my labor, while jewelry stores (of manufactured jewelry) mark the jewelry up 4-20 times the price they pay for it! So actually, the customer is getting a much better value when purchasing something from you!
